Plain answers about portable toilets in Phoenix

Most questions come down to four things: who delivers and services the units, what Maricopa County and your city require, how many units and which types you need, and what changes in summer heat. The answers below are short, hedged where the sources are thin, and point to the agency to check.

  • Event and festival restrooms
  • Construction and venue sites
  • Served by an independent local provider

Topic 1

Who does the work

Does Phoenix Porta Potty Rental deliver the toilets?

No. Phoenix Porta Potty Rental is a call line. An independent local provider delivers, services and removes the units and writes the quote.

Is the price the same whoever I speak to?

No. Each provider sets its own price. Ask for a written quote that names unit types, quantity, servicing and delivery.

Can I be promised a delivery time?

No time or date is promised before a provider confirms its route. Call as early as you can.

Can I choose the provider?

The line connects you with one that covers your area and has units free. If you have a question about the provider, ask when you call.

Topic 2

Rules and permits

How many toilets does a construction site need?

Under the Maricopa County code, one per 20 people within 200 feet of each work area. The copy we found is dated 2011, so confirm with the county.

How many does a public event need?

The county code asks for at least one per 100 attendees within 200 feet at public gatherings without enough permanent toilets, or as the Health Officer requires.

Does my event with food need registering?

Yes, with Maricopa County Environmental Services, requested 30 days ahead. The application asks how many toilets there will be.

Do city rules apply too?

They can, for closures, parks and large events. We have not confirmed them for individual Valley cities, so ask the city.

Topic 3

Units and sites

What is an ADA accessible unit?

A larger unit with a wider door and grab bars, built for wheelchair users. Public events usually add them alongside standard cabins.

When do I need a restroom trailer?

For long, formal or very hot events. Trailers have cooling and running water and need a level pad, power and water.

Where can a unit stand?

On firm, level ground with a clear truck approach, away from washes. Whoever controls the ground must agree.

Do I need a handwash station?

It is a sensible addition, and county guidance sets handwash requirements for food events.

Topic 4

Heat, servicing and storms

How does summer change the rental?

Heat speeds odour and weakens deodoriser, so many providers suggest more frequent servicing, shade and ventilation. A cooled trailer is the upgrade.

How often are units serviced?

As agreed in the quote. Weekly is common outside peak heat, and twice-weekly is often mentioned as a baseline in peak heat. That is common advice, not a rule.

Can units be rented after a monsoon storm?

Crews can book units for sites without plumbing, subject to what a provider has free. No delivery time is promised.

Do you make health claims about heat?

No. Ask a doctor. Employers should check the Industrial Commission of Arizona and federal OSHA.
